Photolib‚Ñ¢ Portfolio
Any Photolib‚Ñ¢ Image with a numerical file name or a filename starting with PO can be ordered on Portfolio CD.
Images on Portfolio CD are either in Kodak PhotoCD or in JPEG format. You have to choose the format before ordering. Files starting with PO can only be ordered as JPEG.
Images in Kodak PhotoCD file format contain five resolutions. The highest resolution is 3072 times 2048 pixels. These images are original PhotoCD scans. No cropping or image adjustment has been made. You will require Adobe Photoshop for reading the Portfolio CD with Kodak PhotoCD images. One such Portfolio CD can contain up to 120 images.
PhotoLib‚Ñ¢ Portfolio is a CD-ROM disk - not a PhotoCD disk! Programs such as Apple Photo Access cannot read Portfolio CD!
Images in JPEG format contain up 3072x2048 pixel (18 MB file size) and are JPEG compressed. For most photographs cropping and rotation was applied but not other adjustments have been made. The image can be read by any program supporting JPEG or be converted by the Picture Decompressor utility. One such Portfolio CD can contain up to 400 images. Images with filenames starting with PO are approx. up to 1800 x 1200 pixel.
In theory the JPEG image will have lost some of the original image information because of the compression. In practice you will not be able to detect this difference.
Before printing cropping, rotation and image adjustment may be required. You should have the appropriate hardware and software (such as Adobe PhotoShop) for that purpose.
